The short version: coconuts does not collect your data. Everything you enter stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, syncs only through your own private iCloud account. The developer has no servers and cannot see your information.

Who we are

coconuts (“the app”) is a bill-splitting app for iPhone. This policy explains how the app handles your information. It is provided by the app’s developer (“we”, “us”).

Information the app handles

The app stores the content you create — groups, members’ names, expenses, amounts, currencies, notes and any receipt photos you attach. This data is saved locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database. Version 1 of the app has no account and no login.

How your data is stored and synced

If iCloud is enabled on your device, your data is mirrored to your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit so it can sync across your own devices. This storage is controlled by Apple and is accessible only to you. We do not operate any server, and we cannot access, read, or collect this data. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Camera and photo library

The app asks for camera and photo-library access only so you can attach a receipt photo to an expense. Those photos are stored together with your app data (on your device and, if enabled, your private iCloud). They are not sent anywhere else.

No tracking, analytics or ads

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. We do not build profiles of you, and we do not share any data with third parties.

Retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in control of it. You can delete individual expenses, members or entire groups inside the app. To remove everything, delete the app and clear its iCloud data from Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Since we do not collect your data, there is nothing on our side to delete.

Children

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
